It all began in the Thirties when Cesare Porello transformed his small property into a true company devoted to the production of wine, but also peaches, a fruit that the town of Canale was already well known for. His inheritance was given to sons Riccardo and Ettore who, visionary and going against the times, dedicated themselves to growing grapes, increasing the vineyards and concentrating the vines in the most dedicated areas.
In 1994, Marco Porello, Riccardo's son, returned to the company after a few short but important experiences as an oenologist in Italy and France and…the change was made! Attention to quality is the objective shared by three generations, just like attention when working in the vineyard and maximum care paid to every detail; this is the "leitmotif" of this reality, which is halfway between tradition and innovation.
The company produces three white wines, all local and all vinified in steel, with the leader being Camestri, from the vineyard of the same name in the municipality of Vezza d'Alba, which faces east on steeply sloped sandy soil. Barbera is planted in the Mommiano vineyard in the municipality of Canale, and in a small lot with Filatura vines that are almost 50 years old. Nebbiolo is grown in the vineyards of both Vezza and Canalefrom which, in the Toretto vineyard with its vines that range from 30 to 50 years of age, the grapes of the most representative red wine are obtained. It is a young company, where tradition remains alongside the times, thanks to the care that the Porello family dedicates to its vines every day.
