Origin Bolgheri Rosato DOC
Grapes 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 30% Syrah
Vinification The grapes originate in the "Scalabrone" vineyard, within the Bolgheri estate, "Tenuta Guado al Tasso".
The harvested bunches were de-stemmed and lightly pressed. Maceration took place at a controlled temperature of about 10°C, for between 4-12 hours depending on the grape variety. This was necessary to achieve a must with the right intensity of color, but without any astringent notes. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel vats at a temperature no higher than 16°C. The wine was blended in mid December. The wine was then kept at 10°C to preserve the fragrance until bottling in January.
This wine is a Bolgheri Rosato DOC with strong personality, and particularly vibrant colour and aromas. Taste Bright pink peony color. Fruity aromas, with raspberry notes that enhance the freshness. Well-balanced and tasty, with a pleasant fruity aftertaste of raspberry and dog rose.
History: Tenuta Guado al Tasso is situated about 80 Km south-west of Florence near the medieval town of Bolgheri, in Maremma. The 900-hectare estate extends down the Tyrrhenian coast to the hills and apart from 300 hectares of vineyards, other crops grown here include wheat, corn, sunflowers, olives. The vineyard and consequently the wine are named after the bandit "Scalabrone" who lived in this area in the early 19th century, a kind of Robin Hood figure who attacked ships in the old canal harbour Bolgher.
