Irpinia terroir is particularly suited to viticulture because of its unique pedoclimatic characteristics influenced by the volcanic material of Vesuvius. It is the land of autochthonous viticulture in which the Aglianico grapevine is greatly diffused and is well known for its quality performance

VINEYARD AND SOIL: The estates for the production of the Mastro Rosso are located mainly on clay soils with a South-East exposure at 350 m a.s.l. on average. The training system is the espalier with guyot pruning system and the density of plantation of 3,000 vines/ha on average and the yeald is of about 8,000 kg/ha (7,140 lbs/acres) and 2,6 kg/vine (5,80 lbs/vine).
AGE OF THE VINEYARDS: On average 15 years old.
HARVEST PERIOD AND TYPOLOGY: Mid October, manual harvest.
VINIFICATION AND REFINING: Classic red vinification in stainless tanks at controlled temperature.
Refines for at least 1 month in bottle.
COLOR: Ruby red.
BOUQUET: The scents reveal sensations of ripe plum,strawberry and cherry, followed by aromas of spicy pepper and cinnamon.
TASTE: Medium-bodied, balanced, with a pleasant hint of black cherry..
