PRODUCTION AREA: Estate vineyards, in the southern hills of Montalcino.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Pinot Grigio
METHOD OF PRODUCTION: Selective grape harvest. The temperature-controlled fermentation (15-18°C) of the free-run juice is followed by storage at low temperature, which leaves a small and natural effervescence. A few months after the harvest, before the year ends, bottling takes place.
THE WINEMAKER COMMENT: This 100% Pinot Grigio belongs to Castello Banfi estate-bottled single-varietals range. Thanks to the Montalcino microclimate our Tuscan Pinot Grigio adds to the typical aromas of this variety an unusual body, flavour and balance.
Pale straw yellow color. The scents of pear, peach and citrus fruits meet to create an intense, floral and fruity fragrance. In the mouth it is pleasantly fresh, thanks to a balanced acidity. It goes well with light dishes of low fish or white meat, such as swordfish rolls or chicken strips with lemon sauce.
