Kiros is the variety (registered in the European variety register) that largely contributes to the production of San Marzano DOP tomatoes from the Sarnese Nocerino area.
The fruits are gathered in clusters of 5 or 6 or even more, immature they have the "typical" green shoulder, when ripe they are of an intense and uniform red color of elongated shape with the presence of two lateral dimples.

From sowing to harvesting, all cultivation operations are manual.
Distinctive note of this cultivar are the sweet acidic balance, the persistent aroma, the flavor and the intensity of the red color of the fruit.
The harvest takes place from the end of July to the beginning of August and lasts (in some cases) until late October.
Traditionally it is used in the kitchen as a condiment for pizza and pasta (it is particularly suitable for the typical "Neapolitan ragù") and in combination with other dishes based on traditional vegetables.
