For the annually appearing bottling from the Distillers Edition series, one chooses at Caol Ila exMoscatel wine barrels for an additional maturation of the single malts.
This gives this Islay drop a very smoky-sweet note.

Tasting Notes

APPEARANCE: Clear gold.

BODY: Medium bodied.

NOSE: Fresh malt and aromas of soft honey, then suddenly moist sea air and peppermint.

PALATE: Again the salty sea air, to peat smoke and syrup with notes of cinnamon and cardamom - behind it orange and green tea.

FINISH: Smoky on the finish with noticeable brown cane sugar, juicy grapes and fresh pastries.
